Project NAPUS 2000
Within the framework of the BMBF-promoted project NAPUS 2000 it was the task of the SAATEN-UNION Resistenzlabor GmbH to produce transgenic plants.
Therefore, in the first attempt, the hypocotyl transformation was established by means of agrobacteria. The transformation of some constructs in agronomically preferred rape genotypes is succesfully completed. The transgenic plants were delivered to the rape breeders involved, who multiplied the material and tested the effectiveness of the introduced genes. The project NAPUS 2000 was financially supported by the BMBF. OLeRa, a recently granted R&D project will proceed to establish long chain poly unsatured fatty acids in linseed and rape.
