At the beginning of 2007 the Biotech Park in Gatersleben was opened. It is located in the immediate vicinity of IPK Gattersleben (the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research) where various techniques for the production of double haploid lines are researched and put into practice. Other services also offered include, anther culture for winter and summer barley, along with the production of double haploid wheat lines. Seed multiplication can be carried out in greenhouses under optimal conditions.
